Nancy Richardson, Ph.D., leads our Middle Years Program. Nancy has a B.A. in Foreign Language and International Affairs and minors in Economics and Politics. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. at Washington University in Saint Louis in Germanic Languages and Literature. She has teacher certifications in English/Language Arts and German for (7th-12th) grades and extensive experience teaching and leading adolescent classrooms. Dr. Richardson spent the first years of her teaching career at Mary Institute & Saint Louis Country Day School teaching German and leading the Student Exchange Program with their partner school in Germany. She also developed and taught the 10th-12th grade English course, aligning it with SAT preparation and writing skills goals while serving as the Director of Community Service at the school. In addition, Nancy has worked as an Academic Dean teaching seminars and study skills for incoming students at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics, as well as supervising teachers and dorm parents at Washington Academy in Maine. As an added bonus, Nancy is a lifelong learner herself and just earned her recommended black belt in Taekwondo and she is excited to be learning Spanish.
