Children's House Guide 

Status:  Full-Time

Start Date:  August 19, 2019

Description:   It is the fundamental responsibility of every Montessori Guide to embrace the values and beliefs expressed in the Montessori philosophy and to work constantly to use them in daily classroom practice.  The Montessori guide establishes, maintains and utilizes a prepared environment run on child rather than adult time. They use their expertise to create, inspire and direct a learning community that meets the needs of the children. They follow a clearly articulated approach including nurturing a culture of work that takes into account the psychological characteristics of the children of the age group involved. They have a deeply respectful approach to the children and aim to work as a team with all the adults in the classroom supporting the program.

Qualifications:

- Montessori certification from accredited organization (AMS, AMI, MACTE, etc.)

- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher preferred

- Previous experience in a Montessori Children’s House environment preferred

Long-Term Substitute - 19-20 School Year

Children's House: August 19th - October 4th 

The success of children's education at the Rochester Montessori School is due to our qualified and dedicated group of staff who work with children and the support of their parents. We rely on our substitutes when regular staff members are sick or attending to professional responsibilities outside the school. After School Care Position 19-20 School Year

Hours - 3-5:30, daily during the school year.

The After School Care Lead position will manage a classroom of students during the hours of 3-5:30.  If you would like to be considered for this position, please fill out an application and send it to Michael Wridt, Program Director.

Substitutes for the 19-20 School Year

Hours may vary.
