Sarah Buhmann, E2 East Guide

Sarah began her teaching career in 1998 as a middle school English teacher after receiving a degree in Elementary and Middle school education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Additionally, she holds certification as a teacher of English as a second language and French. Sarah discovered the Montessori Method two years later when she moved to Chicago and has been a Montessori Guide since 2002. Sarah took her AMS Elementary II training through the Center for Montessori Teacher Education-New York. She has worked in both AMS and AMI schools in the public and private sectors, and she also attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where she received a Masters degree in Elementary Education. Sarah has completed training sessions for International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program in the areas of Individuals & Societies and Language & Literature.  She has also been trained in the Montessori Model United Nations program and has successfully taken a number of groups to the final conference in New York City. Sarah enjoys getting students fully involved in their learning.  She has also worked with staff at the Olmsted History Center to establish a program for elementary students to experience a full day in a one-room schoolhouse.

Nolan McMonagle, E2 East Assistant

A native of the state of Washington, Nolan graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from Central Washington University.  He is married to his fantastic wife, Bailey, and has one very spoiled dog named Kahu.  Nolan can often be seen around the school wearing a "coach" t-shirt as he is also a coach for Amazing Athletes, an educational sports program for preschool aged children.  He joined the RMS staff in 2015 as a substitute teacher and also as a Late Pickup staff member.



Mark Seifert, E2 West Guide

Mark has been a Montessori Guide since 2008 at the Rochester Montessori School. He maintains a Minnesota Teaching license and completed his A.M.S. primary teacher's certification from the Center for Contemporary Montessori Programs at the College of St. Catherine's. Mark earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Iowa State University, and an Elementary Education Mathematics Endorsement. He also works with E-1, E-2, and Middle school students in after school science and Robotics programs. He is the Rochester Montessori School FLL (First Lego League) coach.
