Willows

Hello Willows Families,

The sun is shining today and the snow will be melting some these next few days – maybe we will get an early spring like the groundhog says!  February has been busy so far in the Willows classroom. We’ve been working on new activities all over the classroom.  In Practical Life we are polishing pennies and will be starting wood polishing soon. We are enjoying quilling paper and making skeleton models in art.  In geography we’ve wrapped up our study of Antarctica and are moving into our Europe study.  If your family has any “artifacts” from Europe from travels or family items that you would like to share with the class please send them with your child for sharing time.

In science, we’ve finished our study of the solar system with our afternoon friends completing a model of all the planets that is on display in our classroom.  Our morning friends enjoyed learning about space and singing songs about the planets too.  Last week we started studying the human body.  So far, we have learned about the skeletal system and about how our muscles move our bones.  We’ll be moving on to the respiratory, circulatory, and nervous systems, and about how we keep our bodies safe and healthy. Today we had a dentist visit in the afternoon to teach us about how to take care of our teeth and gums.  She also let us look at some of the tools she uses in her office!

We are getting excited for RMS’ annual International Festival coming up on Saturday, February 27th from 10am- 1pm.  There are always lots of fun activities and foods to try and musical performances to see, we hope to see you there!

Conference sign-up for the weeks of March 7th and 14th is now available via an email from the office with the sign-up link.  If you did not receive the email please let the office know.

We hope this finds you all well and thank you for your continued support.

Warmly,

Kate, Sarah, Niniek and the Willows friends
